Meet Kyle Greenwood

Leadership that Stands for the People

Kyle Greenwood is not running for personal gain. He is running for Brazos County Commissioner for Precinct 2 because he believes in serving the people. His experiences as a business owner, innovator, and community leader give him the tools necessary to make tough decisions and take on tough issues without political games or favoritism.

Kyle believes his action on the NO EAST LOOP project speaks volumes to his intentions to serve the people of Brazos County. He and his wife of 25 years, Beverly, went to Brazos County Commissioners' Court weekly for nine months. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their neighbors of eastern Brazos County advocating against setting an alignment for a 20-mile highway that Brazos County didn't have the money to build and was not a TxDOT project. The wasteful $11.2 million taxpayer funded study was cancelled on July 29th and Kyle announced his intention to run for Precinct 2 Commissioner that evening.

Kyle and Beverly, both Texas A&M University graduates, have three beautiful children they have homeschooled, with the oldest attending Texas A&M and the youngest still in high school. They own BMI Defense Systems, BMI Law Enforcement and Black Mountain All Terrain.

Business Leadership & Accountability

Kyle Greenwood is a successful small business owner, with over 20 years of experience running a manufacturing business. He has managed hundreds of employees and successfully handled multi-million-dollar government contracts.
This demonstrates his ability to:

  • Manage large budgets and contracts with accountability

  • Solve real-world problems with innovative solutions

  • Protect taxpayer dollars, just as he has protected his own business assets

Problem Solving Skills

Kyle’s experience in military contracting and innovation shows he is someone who can solve complex problems. He doesn’t shy away from resistance, as demonstrated when he developed life-saving equipment that was initially rejected but eventually adopted.

  • He has led through adversity and faced difficult decisions, which translates directly into how he will approach county issues like road repair, smart growth, and budget management.

Service-First Values

Kyle believes in serving others. Whether it’s supporting a friend going to war, traveling overseas to build churches and water wells, or fighting for neighbors against the threat of eminent domain, he has demonstrated a long track record of service both at home and abroad.

  • He doesn’t just see public service as a job, it’s a calling.

  • Public service should not be about politics; it should be about meeting the needs of the people, protecting what matters most to them, and making tough decisions.

Fiscal Responsibility & Growth

  • Fiscal Responsibility: Kyle has decades of experience managing budgets and contracts, so he understands the importance of balancing the books and not wasting taxpayer dollars.

  • Smart Growth: He is committed to responsible growth that maintains the county’s rural character, preserves the quality of life, and ensures infrastructure can handle the increase in population without compromising existing services. An integrated plan with collaborative community involvement will ensure affordable homes for new residents while respecting those that already appreciate Brazos County.

Proven Record of Innovations

  • With over 20 patents to his name, Kyle is an innovative thinker and a problem solver. This mindset will help him tackle the complex challenges of county government, from infrastructure needs to tax management.

  • He has demonstrated the ability to influence positive change through the No East Loop advocacy, even when met with resistance, something crucial for local government leadership.

Dedicated to the Rural Way of Life

  • Kyle understands the unique needs of rural communities because he has lived and worked in one. He is committed to preserving the rural lifestyle by ensuring local farmers and ranchers are protected and respected. This includes inviting rural communities within Brazos County to participate in the conversations that directly affect their areas. Living near Bryan/College Station should be a benefit, not a detriment, to Wixon Valley and Kurten.

  • He wants to make sure that property rights are respected, and community growth is balanced with preserving the peaceful, rural character of the county.
